However, Julia grew up on a farm in Loudoun County, Virginia. She was in the back seat of her family's green Pontiac when she first saw the waving girl. Her picture book, MYRTLE'S SECRET TRAILER TRIP is based on this imprint.

Lonesome and stuck in a rural trailer park, Myrtle waves as cars and trucks and dogs and cats and ants pass by. However, Myrtle holds a secret about traveling too. Using her imagination, Myrtle goes on a beach adventure we won't ever forget.
While playing the role of Catherine in The Foreigner at a regional theater in Connecticut, Julia was a guest at a local elementary school. She read the story aloud for the first time and received these responses:
